Try Not to Miss Me When I'm Gone

This is probably a little too late but you know what they say, better late than never!

Last March 16, 2012 was a day that I will never forget. It was the day that one of my favorite bands did a one-night-only show here in Manila - A Day To Remember. The moment I found out about it, I already knew that I had to be there, that I couldn't miss it. Thanks to EJ Reyes - a good friend of mine - who made things possible and made me his plus one.

I really enjoyed the concert! Another great thing was that I got to bring my camera inside, bad thing though 'cause apparently it wasn't allowed to take pictures using DSLRs. So after snapping a few photos, I got caught. Turns out I wasn't stealthy enough for the bouncers. EJ had to take care of it for me. In the end he had to put the camera in his car.

Here are some of my favorite shots!

All in all, they sang nineteen songs including the encore. I'd like to write about my experience some more but I couldn't really put it into words. Met new people + saw old friends = night well-spent!

Vintage Asylum

Vintage Asylum is not exactly an online thrift store. Well, something like that. It's an online garage sale. My reason? For me to be able to share the pretty clothes that I almost never or absolutely never get to use to fashionistas who are on a budget (like me!).

Here are the stuff that I have on sale. And not to mention, one of the greatest things on earth - further reductions!

Floral Romper / Free Size / P250 P200

Navy drape dress with rose patterns / M - L / P300 P250

Empire cut cocktail dress with bow detail / M - L / P250 P200

Lace top / M / P120 P80

Zara TRF satin skirt / M / P300 P250

Mustard bodycon skirt / M / P120 P100

Denim cut-offs / M / P150 P100

Lace-up peep toe oxford heels / Size 9 / P300 P250

Electric blue T-strapped sandals (kitten heeled) / Size 9 / P150 P120

To get a hold of these items, you can head over to Vintage Asylum's Facebook Page (don't forget to Like it!) and comment on what you'd like to purchase. Then you'll receive a message from yours truly to talk about meet-ups (since that's all I can do at the moment). Also, I do not ask for a handling fee so you don't have to worry about anything!

So, what are you waiting for? ;)

Le Portfolio

I don't know how many attempts I've made to build my portfolio, and the number of times that I just became plain lazy are probably twice as these so-called attempts. But now that I am almost done with school, and sooner or later I'd already have to help out with the bills. So maybe I should just become dead serious about this matter and just - for the lack of a better term - get on with it.

A Compilation of Sweet Nothings is my way of doing so. It's been up for a good couple of months now I just don't get to update it as much. Now I'm taking it more seriously since my career probably depends on it now.

Ya'll know I'm an art student. I draw, yes. Do some graphic design, yes. But my main focus and favorite medium is photography even before all the hype with DSLRs. Back then, I only used a 2-megapixel Canon Powershot. I had no idea what an aperture was, an ISO and so on. Here are some of my old works.

After this old digital camera, my dad decided to reward me with an upgrade. He got me a Canon PowerShot A630. It was great, you can swivel the screen, great for self portraits. Hehe.

When I started with college, that's when my parents got me a DSLR.

These photos will also be uploded in my portfolio. Hihi.

Pseudo Fashion Entry

Disclaimer: This is my sorry excuse of a "fashion blog (post)".

Most of you probably know that I'm more of a comfortable dresser than a fashionable one. I always opt for lose tops, jean shorts or denim pants, and a pair of sneakers. But what I really love is accessorizing! Recently, my grandmother gave me a pretty fringe bag from H&M. Yes, you read that right.. my grandmother. Sadly, I don't have photos from my camera so I had to do away with Google instead.

Yes, that is the bag. I used to not be fond of bags but it's a great way to spice up my boring school uniform (especially when we're basically not allowed to wear it with anything but black trousers and black flats).

The brown one looks pretty fit as well. But me being me, I'd prefer black over any other color.

One of the great things I love about this bag is how roomy it is. You'll never guess! It fits all of the stuff I need for school and it's not that heavy. Plus, I know it's really sturdy unlike my previous bag (which I already put to rest).

On top of that, my mom also managed to score an extremely roomy Liz Claiborne bag.

I love big bags!

The legs at the bottom are also an amazing feature.

And you've all seen my sequined Union Jack bag from Accessorize, right?

You might have noticed how spiced up my new bags are. Great for my monotone / plain outfits, yes? Now, I must invest in good watches.

Toodles!

Long and Overdue: Birthday Haul

It's been a couple of months since I last updated my blog. My last post was about my birthday which happened less than two months ago.

My twenty-first birthday was a blast! Much thanks to the people I celebrated it with. You guys are the best! But anyway, I would like to share with you the things that I get to scratch off of my birthday wishlist.

Sequined Union Jack clutch; Accessorize

Two-fold wallet; Accessorize

Eyeshadow, cream eye liner, lipstick and blush palette; Sephora

BB Cream; Mistline

BB Powder; Mistline

All of these are from my mom. Isn't she awesome? I love how she just knows how obsessed I am with Union Jacks.

Earphones; Philips. Because my old earphones gave up on me. And the fact that I can't last a day without my iPod.

Hi-Top Champions; Keds. These are actually a Christmas present from my dad. I love these shoes! They go with everything I own.. almost. But you get my point, right?

Brown loafers / moccasins; So! Fab. I was going to buy the ones from Payless but when I found these babies, I didn't think twice. They were cheaper and a lot more comfortable.

These blue flats are from my mom as well. They're quite an impromptu gift.. sort of. They're super comfy! The only thing that I don't like about it is how I can only use it when it's not raining to avoid.. mishaps?

Serpent ring; Aldo

Star earrings; Aldo
These are from Mico. Yay! I love how he picked out a serpent ring for me. All thanks to Ched who informed him that I broke the previous one (that I still own) I got from my birthday last year from Nicole.

Union Jack connector ring
This one is from Ched. I requested for a skull ring but she got this instead. Doesn't matter, still love her.

So there. Thank you to everybody (again)! I really appreciate what you got from me. Dad's gift is still pending. Hihi. Vans all black Authentics, here I come!
